Trip to London!

A group of 40 students in 1st of Batxillerat have been to LONDON!

We have spent 5 days in London visiting different monuments, buildings, and museums such as Big Ben, the Tower Bridge and the National Gallery, among others. We didn’t go just for fun (although it was), but for learning about English culture, history, and traditions. In addition, we have practiced our English skills and discovered that we are more than capable of having a fluent conversation with native people. 

Monday

We were so excited, we were in a new country for most of us. Therefore, we didn’t realize that  we were there, since we got impressed by Piccadilly Circus and Chinatown. Furthermore, we could see the  Tower of London and stand at Tower Bridge before going to Catford with our host family.

Tuesday

Still with excitement, we had the pleasure of visiting different iconic places such as Saint Paul’s Cathedral and Covent Garden while a guide was explaining us the history of the different amazing places. Moreover, after some free time and having some dinner, we spent the afternoon in the National Gallery and made a last stop in Oxford Street.

Wednesday

We woke up after it had been snowing all night, it seemed as if we were in a film with the streets full of snow. We spent the morning with our guides who showed us some important places; for instance, Big Ben, James's Park, Buckingham Palace… Finally, we visited the British Museum that amazed us with some works of art such as the “Rosetta Stone”.

Thursday

For the fans of Harry Potter, this morning was special, we went to King’s Cross station and to platform 9^3/4. After that, we went to Camden Town, a spectacular market where we bought most of our souvenirs. In the afternoon, for football fans, we visited Stamford Bridge, the Chelsea FC stadium. Finally, we enjoyed ourselves watching the musical Mama Mia.

Friday

Days went by so quickly, we were on our last day. We went to Notting Hill and  visited the real bookshop in the popular film. After having hung out for a while, we visited  Harrods, the most exclusive store in town. We finished our trip with a visit to Natural History Museum.

For us the trip was amazing in all aspects. We were in a lot of places which we always imagined in our minds. We enjoyed everything we did, but on the top are the amazing   museums, the spectacular musical and the fascinating buildings. In conclusion, every single thing we did. It has been one of the best experiences we have ever had.
